on the agenda today: REVolution day and i'm ON THIS. think mixed media kit & instruction video on how i make it... think taping week 3 & 4 of my 4 week ecourse... think hot tea. think 6 hours straight creating time... think lunch walk (well... with the snow & hale coming i might skip that)... think adding more products to my brand new shop (oh i wish i could have this finished sooner, but when it's there, it's there and we all be dancing. promise.

Creative Christmas Calendar.

are you already following the lovely Creative Christmas Calendar from my sweet friend Riikka? yesterday was my turn. i created this lovely christmas canvas:

on the agenda today: REVolution day! o yes it is. but first things first: playing the "pepernotenspel" in Ruben's group (kindergartners how i love thee, not really but i'll play nice. for once. and don't eat all the 'pepernoten' hehe. i'm the bank you know). i've got a secret assignment which i planned on working today and that will pretty much soak up all my energy & time. but that's rad. that's how it supposed to be. next on the list IF there's somewhat of a spot: new iphone cases will go up in the shop, artjournals or notebooks will not be ordered just yet, but don't worry, i've got another plan up my sleave to make that happen. mix in some hot tea (coffee is on my blacklist as from now) and chocolate: i promise to stare & smell. reallly. promise.

it feels like having another baby.

it really does! well. without the blood. and the pain. and the drama. and my swearing like a sailor. and the moment of extreme happiness. and the newborn smell. okay. okay, it doesn't even come close to having a baby, but they just feel like they are my little babies <3.

when i started out with my mixed media canvasses, i knew i wanted to make postcards. i just ffelt it in my heart that was for me. and when i had my first 8 designs of postcards printed, i knew again, i soooo needed to make christmas cards. not the everyday christmas cards you pick up from the supermarket. i wanted the to be whimsical. magical. full of love. sweet messages on the front, blanc on the back so there's room enough to write down your own special message to your loved one(s).

and the universe listened. isn't it lovely how things work? i just set my mind on things, and wanting them to become true with all my heart. not to mention i really work hard for it too. but it just all magically "clicks". finding the inspiration to create 3 lovely designs. finding a great printing companty who can meet my quality standards & having them delivered early so i can send them out PERFECTLY in time to all my lovely customers.

this week only: 12 cards (3 designs, 4 of each design) with 12 gorgeous white perfect fitting envelopes for only 10 euro's (13 dollars).

on the agenda today: office day in the morning, play day in the afternoon. i'll post about my real life workshop last Saturday this week. i'm packing christmas & postcards, printing prints, and hopefully list some orginal paintings. maybe i even play a little game on the Kinect with the muppets. it's a good day.

the story behind...

the story behind this canvas / card. when you truly want something really bad. the only thing that's keeping you from getting it, is, YOU my dear. once i realised that, i felt like my path was more clear. my insecurity dropped, and i just went for what i had in mind. not ONE moment i've had regrets following my dreams. it's only just beginning. it's time to create my life. when will you start?

on the agenda: sending out more sample packages of my lovely postcards to MORE magazines. being thankful to send packages to DIFFERENT countries. yes. love the idea of somebody in Finland receiving a postcard that i created. how freaking head-over-heels-in-love-feeling is that? i still need to pick up my English translation for the Bobble Flower Granny Blanket. but i told you, muppets first!

on the agenda: work, picking up crazy kids from school (who need 6 weeks vacation badly, mom totallly agrees!), a date with Echtstudio tonight to work out some lovely plans we've been brewing. excited is an understatement, crocheting, laundry (if i play nice), finishing another canvas-that-will-be-a-postcards also, sending more sample packages of my lovely postcards to magazines, and finishing some leftover wine from yesterday.

almost.

almost. almost ready to update these beauties in my Etsyshop. how's that for following dreams?

the last couple of months i gave myself time to think. to consider. to make decisions. to find out what it is that i really want. i want to be a fulltime creative artist. but there are so many ways to do so. i LOVE to teach. i LOVE to create. but i wasn't sure which way i was going to also make a living out of it, AND combine it with my other company and our amazing two muppets. and those months have helped me so much. to find my focus. to find out what it is that i really want most? and how in the world i was going to make that happen. giving myself time was the best gift i could give myself.

and all of a sudden everything was just right. it clicked. the puzzle is made. that's how i feel. i am going to create lots and lots more canvasses and i will update my Etsy with fun, happy, colorful, meaningful postcards for you to enjoy! don't you think we send way too few postcards these days? e-mail, texting, chatting... it's just not the same feeling as a "real live postcard" on your doormat. 

the schedule is to update all of those beauties in my Etsyshop this weekend. again: i am giving myself time to do it the way i want to. no rush. mindfully is my middlename. at least, that's what i'm going for.
