and that's what warms my creative heart...

the other day i got such a lovely comment from one of my loyal & lovely readers Marlies. she told me she loved my "project postcard" so much she started it for her own sweet little girl. and better yet: daddy started joining the fun too! the little sweetheart is checking the mail daily to see if there's any post for her.

and that's what warms my heart so much. that's one of the reasons i love to share my ideas & thoughts and creative stuff on this blog. cause other people can get ideas and start joining the fun and make the idea even better.

project postcard - week 2

pretty proud of myself for:
a. remembering i started this project;
b. sorting through some lovely postcards and even bought some fun new ones;
c. remembered to post them on friday so the muppets will receive them on saturday.

Ruben was thrilled to receive mail especially for him again. Sanne gave me the 'roll-eye'.... ha. she will get this in 20 years from now. girl, you will get this! and you will thank me on your bare knees and will excuse yourself for all you did. or i hope so.

anyway, project postcard week 2:

these postcards were in the lovely paperbox i got with my subscription to Flow Magazine. the freaking best magazine!! the art on the front (cutting art) is made by Geertje Aalders. even if you are not Dutch, just visit her site and see the beauties she creates. especially the cutting art is amazing. the image on the card above is her cutting art and it is from 1 piece. watch closely: everything is connected. she's amazing, simply amazing.

we have a busy week coming up. wednesday sanne is having her girl party for her birthday and we are going to the movies. me and seven 8-year olds. what was i thinking? on saturday we are celebrating her 8th birthday. sigh. big big big deep sigh. all the cliches are so true. live moves pretty fast. just jump off the bandwagon once in awhile to soak it all in!

rapapa....rapapaaaaa

i've been thinking of this new project quit some time now and i think it's a keeper. ha. but i think that of all my projects, so i'm biased.

what's the deal? i'm going to send a postcoard to my muppets each and every week for a year, starting last friday June 18th. first of all i think it's plain awesome to receive a real postcard. by mail. on the doormat. second i know my kids are always thrilled to see there's mail and if it's theirs they are beyond thrilled of excitement. third of all: it's a perfect project for scrapbooking! after 1 year i must have 52 postcards each child and i can simply bind it into a lovely mini album. there you go. arriba arriba!

 since i'm going to write just a little bit about that week i've got journaling for a whole year! feels good!

on their first cards i wrote to both of them that there were only 2 more weeks of school left, that Sanne is almost turning 8 (waaaah!!!!) and that we finally booked a freaking summer holiday! YES. we are GOING on a summer holiday this year. they were jumping up and down and up and down of happiness. the postcards were a big hit, like i imagined it (or was it the summer holiday?)

i also know i need some good preparation for this! thinking: enough postcards on hand for the upcoming weeks, a weekly reminder in my calender to send the postcards, cause i know i will forget it, and when the muppets are used to it, they will hunt me for it. and most importantly: share share share. and: if you feel like it: please join the fun! maybe we can even try to send kids across the world postcards. now if only that took off!

life is good. i say: let's get this thing moving!
