HOME never had more meaning to us than the past couple of weeks. as you might have read here and here Ruben had an accident in school and broke his upperleg. it's been quite the rollercoaster from hell for us, but slowly things are getting back to 'normal'. for as 'normal' it can be with a 5 year old in a wheelchair longing to run. and cycle. and jump.
i created this layout for One Little Word and the journaling is in Dutch:
"we just want to be home. at school another boy jumps accidently from a big height on top of Ruben. he broke his upper leg. an ambulance ride to the first hospital. with the second ambulance, 4 horrible hours later, to the childrens hospital. his leg was hung into 'traction' to 'ease' some of his pain. the next morning he was operated. hell on earth. and all we want, is to be at home, as if nothing ever happened. but home seems more far away than ever..."
on the agenda today: speaking of childrens hospital, we got our check up date today. he will have new x-rays and we'll have a date with the surgeon. questions questions and hopefully some answers. Ruben is nervous already. i just hope i can entertain him before he has a meltdown.

the new word is up over at One Little Word and Karla made us think about the new year!
one of my resolutions must be 'believe'. journaling is in Dutch but means something like "how about truly start believing for 100% in myself this year?". kinda cynical meant, because i really need to start believing i can do what i want. i can achieve what i have in mind. i can follow that dream, and catch it even.
on the agenda today: REVolution day, but it'll start later because other business has some needed attention first. but don't worry. i'll be working these little fingers off on my lovely new notebooks, which you are ordering like mad woman. crazies. thank you for that. and for all the sweet words & encouragement. it truly means a lot to me.

oh, how i missed scrapbooking. but i love to pick it back up again, and i'm not feeling 'quilty' or anything that it was low profile the last year. i enjoy creating layouts again. the feeling of telling a story, creating & playing with paper.
this picture is taken when we went iceskating with 4 families. i know these lovely girls (from left to right) Anita, Ingrid, moi, Tanja all through school. our kids are in the same classes. we all have 2 kids, in the same age for the oldest & the youngest. the best part: the kids LOVE to play together too. BIG FAT ADVANTAGE.
at first we drank tea together if the kids had a playdate. then soon the first 'girls night out' came along, followed by a happy day on an extremely hot summer day with all families, food, drinks & laughter. but i believe when we went to dinner & a bar in Amsterdam and were home at around 3.30 and had extremely fun together, that's where 'our bound' was made. we can laugh so much with eachother. i feel like we are on the same level of ideas, kids, husbands, cleaning (OR NOT), but most importantly stupid silly dirty jokes. seriously. they are rad. i feel loved, respected. don't have to be anybody i'm not. they totally 'get' me. the complete package deal.
so for the love of us i created this layout. for the Dutchies: the title is ofcourse, one of our jokes.
on the agenda today: taking care of my ubersweet lovely sanne who got 2 canines pulled out yesterday. which was kinda horror, but she made it and is a tough cookie if you ask me. lucky her dad was with her, i would have punched the dentist, leaving her with no teeth herself, picked up my girly and marched out of there. there was a reason why i stayed home...

remember my post with my 52 promises? i also promised myself i will make a lovely 'mini'-album with all those 52 promises. so 1 spread every week. the journaling is on the mirror side of the page, i have to finish that. but i just wanted you to show how i'll work my 52 promises in a lovely book.

on the agenda today: split in half kinda-day. one important call for today: the dentist for Sanne. she has to have 2 teeth pulled out and i was kinda pushing 'the call' away in December... but it just has to be done. ugh. i feel so bad for the little grapefruit. but she'll do fine. just like the last time, she didn't even moved a muscle at all. i've got some other plans up the works. like a calendar, making more notebooks, thinking about creating some flair buttons and setting up the big lines for an agenda/calendar 2014. so if i get that big pink elephant out of the way, i can start creating.
